The Best New Oculus Quest Games of 2019
The first wave of Oculus Quest games was arguably the best looking, and the Red Matter update pushes the graphics even higher. It’s a dark and brooding space adventure set in an alternate timeline Cold War, complete with a tool-filled space suit. It’s not unlike Half-Life in its atmosphere, and we loved it. But if we had to pick a game for the second wave, we’d go for Blade And Sorcery: Nomad.
Resident Evil 4
Oculus Games has announced that Resident Evil 4 VR will feature a new Mercenaries mode. The game pits players against waves of Ganados and challenges them to kill as many of them as possible. In the “Mercenaries” mode, you’ll get to try new guns, and unlock new outfits for the playable characters. You can download the update for free here. The Mercenaries mode will be available for both PS4 and Oculus VR.
Until You Fall
Until You Fall is a 2019 hack and slash roguelike video game. It was developed by Schell Games and published by Oculus Games. You play as a Rune Knight, battling against the evil Calamity. It is due to be released on Microsoft Windows on October 27, 2020. Until You Fall uses the newest VR technology to bring the game to the virtual reality headset.
Pistol Whip
Oculus Pistol Whip is a rhythm shooter for the Oculus Rift. It was released last year and has since been receiving regular updates. The latest update will add two new levels, a party mode, and new modifiers to your arsenal. It was already a big hit when it first launched, and the Encore update will bring more features to the game and encourage repeat players to try the campaign.
Blade And Sorcery: Nomad
Blade And Sorcery: Nomad is a VR medieval fantasy sandbox that launches on Quest 2 on November 4th. While the game has its origins on the PC, it distills its combat for Oculus Quest. This makes for an unpolished and sometimes chaotic playground, but it’s far from being a finished product. As such, it feels more like a tech demo than a fully fledged product.
Pavlov Shack
The latest VR game to hit the Oculus Store is Pavlov Shack. Based on the popular Counter-Strike franchise, this game is set to take PC VR gaming to new heights. It is currently available for free on App Lab, but when it releases for $24 it will be available on the Oculus Store. You can also use it to play other games, including those that are not compatible with the Quest 2 hardware.
